Danae Goldsmith

Danae Goldsmith is a Registered Generalist Psychologist who is passionate about supporting people through life’s challenges with warmth, curiosity, and compassion. Her journey into psychology began in the world of high-performance gymnastics coaching, where she saw firsthand how people strive, grow, and sometimes struggle under pressure. This sparked a lasting interest in what helps individuals not only cope, but truly flourish. Danae believes that everyone deserves the chance to live authentically and feel grounded in who they are, no matter their history or starting point.

Danae completed a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Psychology at Deakin University and went on to finish a Master of Applied Psychology at Victoria University in 2000.

Across more than two decades of practice, she has supported people from all walks of life. She brings particular experience in Alcohol and Other Drug counselling, having worked for 15 years in residential detox, supported accommodation, and the forensic disability sector. Her background also includes work as an EAP clinician and Telehealth Mental Health Professional, where she provided support during times of stress, transition, and uncertainty. In recent years, Danae has balanced private practice with roles at Amplar Health, including Program Advisor, Clinical Lead, Mental Health Triage Worker, and contributing to service and program development. She also offers wellbeing support to staff at the Commission for Children and Young People.

In her therapeutic work, Danae supports people experiencing depression, stress, anxiety, social anxiety, addiction, emotional overwhelm, relationship difficulties, and performance-related pressures. She strives to create a space where clients feel seen, understood, and empowered to explore new possibilities. Her goal is to help people gain clarity, reconnect with their values, and make choices that move them toward a meaningful and fulfilling life.

Danae works with a blend of evidence-based approaches—including ACT, CBT, Schema Therapy, EMDR, and IFS, always guided by a strengths-focused, collaborative, and deeply human approach. Danae is available for face to face sessions and Telehealth.
